Development of a tool based on FEM methodology for the prediction of thermal distortions in components manufactured by 3D printing (PREDIRE)

The (PREDIRE) 3D project is based on the development of a simulation solution based on finite element calculations, capable of predicting potential thermal distortions in elements manufactured by additive manufacturing technology. For the development of the present project, the use of finite element software (ANSYS) is foreseen. The components under study will be fundamental elements of innovative industrial refrigeration systems, which will be manufactured using 3D techniques. The designed and manufactured elements will be validated according to a detailed dimensional control study, which will allow to establish the validation and optimization of the developed predictive tool.

Research of biotechnological routes in pilot plant for obtaining biomaterials from industrial by-products (BIOPLAMT)

ICUBE Ingeniería Internacionalización e Innovación participates in BIOPLAMT project whose objectives are the investigation of new biotechnological processes for transforming by-products into products with greater added value and the design and assembly of a pilot scale facility where bioprocesses developed in the laboratory can be scaled up. The aim is to develop a biotechnological process at pilot plant scale for the transformation of industrial by-products into bioplastics. In order to obtain these biomaterials, it is essential to investigate the biological processes in the laboratory and to have facilities to study the transition from scale to industrial production.

The action is co-financed by the Government of Asturias through the Economic Development Institute of the Principality of Asturias and the Science, Technology and Innovation Plan (PCTI) as well as by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
